GRADUATION DAY

i am proud to announce that i am now an official interior designer! Last Friday was such a fun and rewarding day for me. i got to dress in my cap and gown and go from a stressed out interior design student, to a college graduate! What made the day even better was that i got to walk with my sis! It is crazy to think that my time at LDS Business College is over and that i'm starting a new chapter in my life. i am going to miss LDSBC, but mostly i am going to miss all of the wonderful I.D. girls who i have grown to love so much. i don't think there is a program in this world like the I.D. program at LDS Business College. i feel so privileged to have been able to spend the time that i spent there, learn what i have learned, and form the friendships that i have. i have made friendships that will last forever, and i am thankful to all of the wonderful students and teachers who have helped me get to where i am today. Here's to the class of 2013! and as Elle Woods says,
"We Did It!"

6 months and counting...

Last Friday was our 6 month Anniversary! i feel like time has gone by so fast, but at the same time, i look back and think about all we've accomplished together already! from new jobs, to new semesters, to traveling, and much decision making, there is no one i would rather be living these adventures with.
McKay, thank you for having faith in me and making me want to be the best i can be. Thank you for always being there for me to tell me i am beautiful, or to put your arms around me and tell me you love me. i love the way you make me feel adored and the way you work hard at everything you do. You are my knight in shining armor, my rock, and my best friend.
i love you.

"My love for you knows no limits. It is timeless, space-less, formless, unshakable and unbreakable. In good times and bad, happy and sad, through the highest highs and lowest of lows know that I am there with you. I will be your strength as you have been mine..."

IT'S OFFICIAL!

McKay got the call yesterday to tell him that he got the management position! which means...

WE'RE MOVING TO VEGAS!!

We are super excited. Although we are going to miss being so close to his family, i am excited to have a chance to live close to mine as well. We will be moving after Bailey's wedding in March. I just feel so grateful to my Heavenly Father for putting everything in place for us and being so good to Mckay and i. McKay is so wonderful and such a hard worker that he deserves all the good that comes to him. i am just lucky to have married such a good man who the Lord is willing to pour out blessings upon. i can't wait to start a new chapter in our lives together.

Easter Weekend + An Interview

We spent our Easter weekend in Vegas with my family. It was perfect weather so my Dad heated up the pool and we spent the majority of our weekend swimming and basking in the sun. It. was. wonderful. We left at about 6am on Friday so McKay could get to his interview on time. The drive was absolutely gorgeous and i couldn't help but snap a million pictures on the way. Ok, so you all are probably wondering what interview i'm talking about. Well shortly after we decided that we were going to Missouri for the summer, another opportunity crossed our path. Lately McKay has been wanting to switch his degree to Health Care Management. He talked to a guy in our ward, Nic, who majored in that and who owns a ton of franchises; one of which is in Las Vegas. Nic mentioned that the manager of the franchise in Vegas was leaving to start his own franchise in California and that they were looking for a manager. McKay was instantly interested and it all seemed like a perfect fit. We found out that the management position had been filled, but Nic called and convinced them that they needed 2 managers down there to split up the areas they will be working in. McKay sent down his resume and a letter of recommendation and shortly after they called and wanted him to come down and meet with him. We went down there, and the interview went great! They said they aren't interviewing anyone else, and they will call us in a few days to let us know all of the details. The guy asked McKay if he was ok with moving to Vegas, and he told him, "A happy wife = A happy life, and my wife is from Vegas!" haha. I will be a happy wife if we get to move down there. :)
Fingers crossed!

Temple Night

Today was such a nice day. It was warm and sunny so this morning i went on a 3 mile run which felt so good. Then i came home and did P90x ab ripper X, did some laundry and cleaned, then got ready for our little Temple date.

i drove down to McKay's office and patiently waited for him to come out so we could head off to the Bountiful Temple.

A pic i took of the Beautiful Bountiful Temple.

The view was amazing!

Love Love Love this man

Then off to Mandarin for a great dinner.

After dinner we went to Grandma's house (McKay's mom, Lisa) and played with our cute little nieces and nephew.

At the end of the night i snapped a picture of the beautiful sunset that we saw from our driveway

It's days like today that make me truly grateful to God for all that he does for us. Enjoying the wonderful weather today, spending time with family, and being in the Temple help me realize that God's hand truly is in all things. I love going to the Temple with my love and being reminded that we get to be together forever.

Life is  good.

Have i mentioned that i am obsessed with kids clothes?! It probably all comes from playing with Barbie's as a little girl. I would change their clothes and cut their hair more than i would actually play with them! I have always loved beautifying things. Maybe that is why i chose to be an interior designer. There is something about out with the old and in with the new, something about change that just drives me. My poor little sister always had a first hand experience with my outbursts of change and creativity. She was like my own life-sized Barbie doll that i would cut and style her hair, or pick out her clothes every single day. On days that i didn't pick out her outfit, she was usually the victim of my harsh statement, "Melany, you probably should go change. That's not very cute". That sounds so rude i know, but you get the point. (i love you Melany!)

That all being said; i was at Target yesterday getting some things for Bailey's bachelorette party tonight, and i found myself wandering into the little girls section looking at all of the adorable dresses and flower headbands. It made me so excited to have my own kids one day (this is not an announcement). That is obviously not the only reason that i am excited to have my own kids one day, but it will be fun having little munchkins to dress up. It's not abnormal for me to browse sites such as babyGAP and Janie and Jack to come up with cute outfit ideas, so today i thought i would share some of the little outfits i put together.

Here they are:

OUR WEEK

Hey Guys! Sorry i haven't given our little blog any attention in awhile. We've been pretty busy lately. Let me fill you in on our week. Wednesday evening McKay surprised me and took me to Pepper Bellys, it's a great little Mexican food eatery that we just love. Thursday, McKay worked and had class, i met him and some of his friends for lunch at Rumbi and then i went on a run to RC Willey to pick up some accessories for a model home i am helping with for Henry Walker, then swung by career day at LDSBC, came home, made dinner, did laundry, and hung out with my hubs/ watched him study the rest of the evening. Friday, McKay had work and school again {as he does every Monday through Friday} while i went out with my mother in-law, Lisa and sister in-law McKenzie to watch our little genius nephew Joseph while his Mom went to a doctor's appointment. I say genius because oh my heavens you would be amazed at this little guy. He is not even two years old yet and he has books memorized, he can read small words, he can tell time, he knows all of the shapes and can even tell the difference between a hexagon, a pentagon, and an octagon. We watched him for a couple of hours and then when his Mom, Melody got home we went out to lunch to Rumbi {can you tell i love that place??}. After lunch we drove home and i did some cleaning and made some cupcakes for a dinner party we were going to that night at my Aunt's house. When McKay got home from work, we drove down to pick up my sister and then drove out to my Aunt Pam's house in Day Break. A few of my cousins and their kids were there and it was so much fun hanging out with them.
On Saturday i worked all day at David's Bridal. it was a long and good day, but that night i was ready just cuddle up on the couch with my husband. McKay picked up a pizza and a Red Box and we had a relaxing date night at home which was very much appreciated. i just love coming home to this man. On Sunday, we prepared our Primary lesson, went to church, and went to McKay's Grandparent's house for dinner that night where we ate some of his Grandma's amazing apple pie that is always cooked to perfection. On Monday mornings i tutor a first grader and a third grader at an elementary school by my house. After tutoring i headed off to the model home we are working on for Henry Walker Homes for the first big install day. i was pretty much there all day decorating and playing with one of the other designer's new born baby girl. :) That night i made dinner and worked on a school project while i watched the Bachelor. McKay studied for his big test that he took today and then we went to bed.

Today consisted of school, going to the IRS building, the bank, McKay working and taking his test, grocery shopping, laundry, making dinner, and hanging out with my hubby. It has been quite the busy week, but a good one. Tomorrow is another install day at the model home and i am excited to see it all finished.

Here are some pictures of our week:
