SUPERBOWL SUNDAY

SUPERBOWL SUNDAY

A little bit about my husband: McKay is the biggest sports fan you will ever meet. Especially when it comes to football. He played football his entire life and was the kicker in High School. He got a full ride scholarship to Utah State to be their kicker, but declined because he knew how important it was for me to finish my education. He decided to go to the U instead to finish his Pre-Med program so that i could finish my degree at LDS Business College. Even though it's wonderful that we get to live close to his family and finish both of our education, it's sad that he doesn't get to play anymore. Sometimes i'll walk into our bedroom and see him standing about 2 feet away from the TV screen holding a football in his hands and watching a game. In his spare time he checks the scores on his ESPN app. That should tell you a little bit about how much he loves football. So of course, he was super excited all day.

We don't have church until 1 so we sometimes plan our Primary lesson the morning of. We teach the 4 and 5 year old class and they are the cutest kids you will ever meet. We just adore them. That morning we got up, prepared our lesson, got ready for church and then headed off to sacrament meeting. Our adorable niece McKinley got to come with us to church because her dad is out of town on business and her mom, Mandy had the other two kids to watch so we offered to take McKinley with us. She was so much fun. She kept waving at all the little babies as if they were her best friends and then she fell asleep in my arms in the middle of sacrament meeting. (She kind of makes me baby hungry).

After church, we went over to my in-law's house and had a big dinner. McKay and his brother ate their dinners in front of the TV while the rest of us ate at the dinner table. After dinner, the girls baked some yummy Superbowl treats. We made my mother-in-law's famous no bake cookies, jello that was molded into tiny footballs and football helmets, and caramel popcorn. McKay was sad when the 49ers didn't win, but it was a super fun game to watch. We can't wait for next year! Here are some fun recipes to try next time:
