We Made It!

In case you all were wondering what's been going on in the Meyer family household the past while, here's the update; we quit our jobs, and got to spend some time together while we packed our house and completed last minute to do's before the big move. We hit up a few local restaurants, visited McKay's Grandpa and he showed us his awesome collection of vintage cars, went to Bailey and Tanner's wedding festivities in Logan and Idaho, went to a Bee's game, I hosted a Bachelorette party for one of my besties, Ellie Macdonald (soon to be Mrs. Smart), went to McKay's best friend, Riley's ranch, spent time with some of our dear friends and family, and enjoyed the lovely, cool spring weather in Utah before coming to Vegas to soak up the sun. After saying our goodbyes, we loaded up our things and made the big move.

We have been settled into our upstairs apartment for about a week now, and its been great. McKay is loving his new job, and I am loving hanging out by the pool and spending time with my family. We just started Insanity and we are sorer than ever, but loving the program. I am working on building my Interior Design business and learning photography (if anyone in Las Vegas would like to hire a talented, experienced, amazingly awesome Interior Designer, feel free to shoot me an email!) ;)

Just an example of some snacks we eat on the Insanity program. Love clean eating. :)

This desert is so easy, and will surely impress your guests.
For a healthier version substitute graham crackers for low fat graham crackers, cream cheese for the low fat version, and cool whip for "lite" cool whip.

Hope you enjoy this recipe as much as i do!

A Very BERRY SMOOTHIE RECIPE:

Hey Guys! Today i am going to give you one of my very favorite Smoothie recipes! It is super easy, healthy, and tasty. Not to mention its only about 250 calories and leaves you full for hours! Here it is:

________________________________________________________
A Very BERRY SMOOTHIE RECIPE:

1 cup milk
1 cup frozen strawberries
1 handful frozen raspberries
1 handful blueberries

Add all ingredients in blender. Mix, and Enjoy!

i just started using the Designer Whey Protein Powder and i am a huge fan. It is extremely high in nutrients and low in carbs and sugar. If you are looking for a great protein powder that is low cal and delicious, i definitely recommend this.
You can also try variations of this shake by adding bananas instead of raspberries and blueberries. Or to add some extra nutrients, try adding a small handful of spinach!

Thanks for stopping by!

GRADUATION DAY

i am proud to announce that i am now an official interior designer! Last Friday was such a fun and rewarding day for me. i got to dress in my cap and gown and go from a stressed out interior design student, to a college graduate! What made the day even better was that i got to walk with my sis! It is crazy to think that my time at LDS Business College is over and that i'm starting a new chapter in my life. i am going to miss LDSBC, but mostly i am going to miss all of the wonderful I.D. girls who i have grown to love so much. i don't think there is a program in this world like the I.D. program at LDS Business College. i feel so privileged to have been able to spend the time that i spent there, learn what i have learned, and form the friendships that i have. i have made friendships that will last forever, and i am thankful to all of the wonderful students and teachers who have helped me get to where i am today. Here's to the class of 2013! and as Elle Woods says,
"We Did It!"

6 months and counting...

Last Friday was our 6 month Anniversary! i feel like time has gone by so fast, but at the same time, i look back and think about all we've accomplished together already! from new jobs, to new semesters, to traveling, and much decision making, there is no one i would rather be living these adventures with.
McKay, thank you for having faith in me and making me want to be the best i can be. Thank you for always being there for me to tell me i am beautiful, or to put your arms around me and tell me you love me. i love the way you make me feel adored and the way you work hard at everything you do. You are my knight in shining armor, my rock, and my best friend.
i love you.

"My love for you knows no limits. It is timeless, space-less, formless, unshakable and unbreakable. In good times and bad, happy and sad, through the highest highs and lowest of lows know that I am there with you. I will be your strength as you have been mine..."

WE'RE MOVING TO VEGAS!!

We are super excited. Although we are going to miss being so close to his family, i am excited to have a chance to live close to mine as well. We will be moving after Bailey's wedding in March. I just feel so grateful to my Heavenly Father for putting everything in place for us and being so good to Mckay and i. McKay is so wonderful and such a hard worker that he deserves all the good that comes to him. i am just lucky to have married such a good man who the Lord is willing to pour out blessings upon. i can't wait to start a new chapter in our lives together.

Easter Weekend + An Interview

We spent our Easter weekend in Vegas with my family. It was perfect weather so my Dad heated up the pool and we spent the majority of our weekend swimming and basking in the sun. It. was. wonderful. We left at about 6am on Friday so McKay could get to his interview on time. The drive was absolutely gorgeous and i couldn't help but snap a million pictures on the way. Ok, so you all are probably wondering what interview i'm talking about. Well shortly after we decided that we were going to Missouri for the summer, another opportunity crossed our path. Lately McKay has been wanting to switch his degree to Health Care Management. He talked to a guy in our ward, Nic, who majored in that and who owns a ton of franchises; one of which is in Las Vegas. Nic mentioned that the manager of the franchise in Vegas was leaving to start his own franchise in California and that they were looking for a manager. McKay was instantly interested and it all seemed like a perfect fit. We found out that the management position had been filled, but Nic called and convinced them that they needed 2 managers down there to split up the areas they will be working in. McKay sent down his resume and a letter of recommendation and shortly after they called and wanted him to come down and meet with him. We went down there, and the interview went great! They said they aren't interviewing anyone else, and they will call us in a few days to let us know all of the details. The guy asked McKay if he was ok with moving to Vegas, and he told him, "A happy wife = A happy life, and my wife is from Vegas!" haha. I will be a happy wife if we get to move down there. :)
Fingers crossed!
