Baby Grant

Here are the pictures I took for Michele and Aaron at the hospital when baby Grant was born. It was the first time i have actually been to the hospital {that i can remember} for a baby's birth. It was truly a miraculous, beautiful experience. I couldn't help but cry while i was taking their pictures. It was such a beautiful thing to see two people in love creating a family. Babies are true miracles, and I am grateful to God for sending such precious miracles to this earth.

Such a beautiful family. Aaron and Michele, thanks so much for letting me apart of this experience! I love you guys!

A Nautical Baby Shower

A couple of weeks ago i went to my "adopted" sister, Michele's baby shower. Adopted is in parenthesis because she isn't really my adopted sister. Here's the story, my sister married an identical twin, so basically we have "adopted" my brother-in-law's twin brother, Aaron and his wife, Michele, and their adorable daughter Kennedy. {Does that make any sense?} It sounds confusing, but there it is... Anyway, the shower was at my sister Beth's house and was designed by the same party planners that helped plan/design my wedding. Yesterday Michele had the baby and i went and visited them in the hospital with my mom and Beth. I will do a post on our hospital visit soon, but until then, i just want you all to adore the cuteness of this baby shower with me.

Cute, right?? There were nautical themed games with fun prizes, customized cookies, swedish fish favors, and the yummiest bruchetta i ever did eat. It was just the best. I'm so happy for Michele and Aaron {and Kennedy} to welcome this new baby into the world.  What a happy time.

Birthday Boy

This handsome fella is 24 today! I can't believe how fast time has flown by since that first day we met. I love him even more now then I did the day I married him. It's crazy how love works. When you think there is no way you could love someone more, somehow your heart just grows bigger, and your love grows stronger and you realize that you would give your life for that person. I truly feel that way about McKay. I would honestly take a bullet for that crazy, handsome, selfless, silly man. He makes my heart do something funny. Even though we are getting older, in a way I feel like we are getting younger! We are faced with more "grown up" decisions than ever, but somehow our marriage is getting more light-hearted. Our new favorite thing to do usually goes as follows:
1. Mckay picks me up in a baby hold
2. He swings me in the air saying 1...2... and on the count of 3 throws me in the air
3. i land safely on our bouncy bead laughing my head off
4. repeat
I'm thankful for this husband of mine, and that he is mine forever. I look forward to many, many more serious, silly, and adventurous moments in years to come.

Happy Birthday, Love!

House Hunting

During the month of October, we were experiencing some pretty splendid Fall weather, but at the start of November a heat wave hit the valley and the weather was starting to feel a little more like summer in Utah. Which is lovely, don't get me wrong, but it's just not fall-like. So, after having 80 degree weather the past few weeks, i was overjoyed when the high today was in the 60's and the leaves were noticeably changing.  We had plans to go house hunting and the excitement of that along with the weather made me want to be outside and soak up the day. Before we left to go look at houses, McKay and i went exploring outside and snapped some Fall pictures in our excitement for new beginnings.

{Isn't fall the best?? Something about it just makes my heart happy.}

We haven't decided on a house yet, but i have a feeling that it's just around the corner, and i couldn't be more thrilled.

Life Lately

October was a wonderfully exciting, crazy adventurous month for us {aren't they all??} and that is why there hasn't been much going on around the Meyer family blog but here are some snippets of our life lately...

Took a girls trip to Utah to go see the Josh Groban concert and we were introduced to the loveliest french cafe in downtown Salt Lake.

Holiday decorating began.

We celebrated our anniversary at Tivolli Village.

We had some amazingly fun weeks at Preschool, such as Pirate week, Frog week {where we made froggy pancakes} and Halloween week just to name a few.

Took a vacation to California and went to Six Flags Magic Mountain, where we quickly discovered we are Disney people.

Had our monthly "Seastrand-girl" book club which turned out to be more of a Halloween party than an actual book club
{didn't get many pictures, but we managed to snap this one of me, my Mom, and sisters}

Had a pumkin carving, soup eating, harry potter watching Halloween party at my Sister's house.

Made Caramel Apples for Family home evening with some of our close friends and family
Watched my cousin play some football at my old High School in some perfect Fall weather.

Went to a Halloween Party with my lover boy

And last but not least, My sister left on her mission to Gilbert, AZ.
{i felt like a little piece of my heart was missing when she left} :(

{isn't she gorgeous??}
I miss you Melzie Bellz!

That pretty much sums up the month of October for the Meyer's! How was your October?

HEALTHY & DELICIOUS CREPE RECIPE

Saturday mornings for me are a perfect time to pull out my favorite breakfast recipes. Today was one of the first mornings that was cool enough to be outside so i decided to pull out one of my favorite crepe recipes and set up brunch on the patio. To me, nothing is lovelier than a cool summer morning surrounded in beautiful scenery, good company, and yummy food. i couldn't help but pick some fresh flowers from our backyard to add to our spread. What i love about this recipe is that it is low cal, low carb, and only 4 ingredients! {doesn't get much better than that.} Did i mention they also taste heavenly?

Crepe Recipe :

1 cup- flour {i use whole wheat}

1.5 cups- almond milk

1 egg

1/4 teaspoon- salt

mix together with hand mixer, fry in pan & enjoy!

{makes about 16}

i love to top mine off with some freshly whipped-whipped cream, powdered sugar, and berries. other fun toppings to try are:

-peanut butter & bananas
-powdered sugar & syrup
-yogurt & berries
-homemade jam
